Welcome to CUEnet, Concordia University Education Network. As a common enterprise of The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod’s six Concordia universities, CUEnet provides theological education in a variety of forms to Lutheran congregations, schools, and teachers. We offer four primary programs: Colloquy, Seminar, Images of Faith, and Gemstones. Each program is described below. Please select the program that interests you, or feel free to explore our site.
Colloquy is a program of theological study designed to enhance the understanding of Lutheran doctrine and practice. It is aimed at Lutheran teachers, administrators, and other Lutheran church workers who have not previously had the opportunity to formally study Lutheran doctrine. The program consists of eight online courses which may be taken with the goal of becoming rostered by The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod as a Minister of Religion—Commissioned, or simply for personal enrichment. Scholarships are available for each course. College credit is also available.
Seminar is a program of theological study designed to enhance a non-Lutheran teacher’s understanding of the distinct teachings, practices, and identity of the Lutheran school in which they are teaching. The program surveys the major doctrines of the Lutheran Church and compares and contrasts these teachings with those of other Christian denominations as well as other religions. In comparison to Colloquy, Seminar is a significantly shorter, less rigorous introduction to Lutheranism. It does not lead to becoming rostered. Neither scholarships nor college credit are available.
Images of Faith is a set of multimedia presentations designed to supplement a congregation’s catechism program. Complete with a handbook that offers discussion points and conversation starters, this collection of 23 videos covers topics including the Ten Commandments, the Creeds, the Lord’s Prayer, Baptism, the Lord’s Supper, and more. It is available at no cost to the congregations and schools of the LCMS, WELS, and ELS.
COMING SOON: Gemstones is an ever-expanding, searchable library of video presentations on a variety of theological topics. It is designed for church and school leaders to supplement sermons, bible studies, conference presentations, and other educational activities. Access to this streaming library is available at no cost to the congregations and schools of the LCMS, WELS, and ELS.
